This role focuses on assisting with advanced diagnostic imaging procedures, including CT scans, abdominal ultrasounds, and echocardiograms. The technician will play a key role in patient care, anesthesia monitoring, and supporting veterinarians and radiologists to ensure high-quality diagnostic imaging. Key Responsibilities Assist with advanced imaging procedures including CT scans, abdominal ultrasounds, and echocardiograms Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging while ensuring patient comfort and safety Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia or sedation for imaging procedures Monitor vital signs during procedures and respond appropriately to any changes in patient status Place IV catheters and administer medications as directed by the veterinarian Obtain and record patient history and ensure all necessary documentation is complete Maintain imaging equipment and ensure proper operation and care of diagnostic machines Communicate clearly with referring veterinary clinics and pet owners when appropriate Maintain a clean, organized, and safe imaging environment Follow all safety protocols related to anesthesia, radiation, and patient handling Qualifications Licensed/Registered/Certified Veterinary Technician preferred Experience with anesthesia monitoring and patient care Strong knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and patient handling Experience with diagnostic imaging or specialty medicine preferred but not required Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and teamwork skills Compassionate and attentive to patient care Preferred Skills Experience assisting with CT imaging Familiarity with ultrasound procedures Strong anesthesia and sedation management skills Ability to work with referring veterinarians and specialty teams Physical Requirements Ability to lift and restrain animals of various sizes Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to safely handle anesthetized patients
Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
