In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians in the care and treatment of animals. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure the well-being of pets and assist in delivering high-quality veterinary services. This position requires a strong understanding of animal physiology, excellent pet care skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and ensuring the comfort of animals. Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis. Administer medications, treatments, and transfusions as directed by the veterinarian. Monitor animal vital signs and behavior during procedures and recovery. Provide proper restraint techniques for various species to ensure safety for both the animal and staff. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care. Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and post-operative instructions. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and treatment areas. Requirements Proven experience in pet care or as a Veterinary Technician is preferred. Strong knowledge of animal physiology, veterinary terminology, and animal husbandry practices. Proficiency in dog, cat, and exotic handling and animal restraint techniques. Familiarity with basic veterinary procedures and equipment. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members. Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail. A compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners is essential.
