Veterinary CSR Job Description:
Compassion Veterinary Hospital, PLLC is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician or Technician Assistant to join our veterinary team. As a Veterinary Technician/Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients and supporting the overall functioning of our veterinary clinic. This position requires a strong knowledge of veterinary medicine, excellent technical skills, and a genuine passion for animal welfare.
Responsibilities:
This will be a multifaceted position - meaning there will be responsibilities to be carried out with the technician team and CSR team. Assist with CSR daily tasks i.e. answering phone lines, booking appointments, collecting client payments, seating rooms, cleaning of lobby/exam spaces, and/or other tasks deemed to be appropriate for the role by leadership. Assist veterinarians in all aspects of animal care, including examinations, treatments, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures. Prepare and restrain animals for examinations and procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety. Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and cytology, and interpret and record the results accurately. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians. Monitor patients during anesthesia and recovery, including vital signs, fluid therapy, and pain management. Maintain accurate medical records and update patient information in the electronic health records system. Educate and provide guidance to pet owners on topics such as medication administration, preventive care, and nutrition. Assist with radiographic imaging and interpretation. Clean, sanitize, and maintain medical equipment and treatment areas. Assist with scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and managing client communications. Collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure smooth workflow and exceptional patient care. Continuously expand knowledge and skills through professional development opportunities and staying updated on advancements in veterinary medicine.
Requirements:
Associate degree in Veterinary Technology or equivalent certification is a plus. Previous experience working in a veterinary hospital. (1 year minimum
REQUIRED
). Proficient in animal handling and restraint techniques for all levels of FAS. Proficient in jugular, cephalic, and/or saphenous venipuncture for blood draws and IV catheter placements. Proficient in managing hospitalized patient(s) as directed by the veterinarian; with the ability to accurately record all care provided (i.e. electronic medical record, electronic treatment sheet, and charges). Strong knowledge of veterinary medical procedures, terminology, and best practices. Excellent communication skills with clients and team members, both verbal and written. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize responsibilities. Compassionate and empathetic towards animals and their owners. Detail-oriented with excellent observational and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of the veterinary software system Pulse(eVet) is a plus.
