In this vital role, you will assist veterinarians in providing top-tier medical care, perform diagnostic procedures, and ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all animals. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help us deliver exceptional veterinary services while fostering a compassionate atmosphere for our furry patients. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and animal patients. Perform animal restraint and handling using proper techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Conduct laboratory tests, prepare samples, and interpret results to aid in accurate diagnoses. Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infections and ensure patient safety. Manage pet care routines including feeding, grooming, administering medications, and monitoring recovery. Take and develop X-ray images, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with pet dental care. Handle animal catheterization, venipuncture, and other technical procedures with precision. Maintain detailed medical records, update patient files, and communicate treatment plans clearly. Provide education to pet owners on animal physiology, health maintenance, and post-treatment care. Requirements Proven kennel experience combined with strong animal husbandry skills. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology. Experience with veterinary critical care situations and laboratory procedures. Skilled in dog handling, pet grooming, and pet care routines. Familiarity with aseptic techniques, X-ray procedures, and laboratory testing methods. Ability to perform animal restraint effectively across various species including dogs and horses. Excellent animal handling skills with an emphasis on safety and comfort. Prior veterinary technician experience is highly preferred; certification is a plus. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and educate pet owners.
