Job Description

Compensation:
$18-$25/hour (based on experience)

PTO, paid holidays, medical/dental/vision, 401k (after 1 year), CE support, uniform allowance, employee pet benefits Step Into a High-Impact Technician Role We are looking for a skilled Veterinary Technician who takes ownership of the exam room, communicates confidently with clients, and helps drive efficiency within the hospital. This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys client interaction, preventive care, and structured workflow . Position Summary The Veterinary Technician leads exam room workflow , supports the veterinarian, and ensures accurate documentation, diagnostics, and client communication. This role focuses on appointments and patient care , not anesthesia or advanced surgical procedures. Key Responsibilities Lead exam room workflow from intake to discharge Obtain accurate patient histories and vitals (TPR, weight) Review preventive care and identify due services Educate clients on vaccines, parasite prevention, and wellness care Assist the DVM in developing and presenting treatment plans Perform diagnostics (lab work, radiographs, cytology, UA, fecals, etc.) Administer injections (IV, IM, SubQ) as directed Ensure accurate medical records and charges (PVL) Perform technician appointments (blood draws, bandage changes, post-op checks, laser therapy) Review and prepare medication refills with doctor approval What This Role Does NOT Include Anesthesia induction or monitoring Surgical procedures Advanced hospitalization management (These are handled by our Senior Technician team) What We're Looking For 2+ years of veterinary technician experience Strong communication and client education skills Detail-oriented with strong medical documentation skills Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment Team-oriented with a positive, professional attitude About Us Woodforest Animal Hospital is building a high-performing, non-toxic team where accountability, communication, and teamwork matter.
