Monday-Friday with rotating Saturdays Neighborhood Veterinary Centers - Nederland is looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgical Technician to join our team. This is a hands-on role for a confident veterinary technician who understands surgical flow, stays ahead of the doctor, and takes pride in providing excellent patient care. The ideal candidate is technically strong, dependable, team-oriented, and able to remain calm and focused in a busy surgical environment. You should be comfortable anticipating what the doctor will need, communicating clearly with your teammates, and stepping in wherever you're needed to keep the day moving. What You'll Do Support veterinarians throughout surgical and procedural cases Provide anesthetic monitoring and patient recovery Place IV catheters and perform venipunctures Prepare and administer commonly used medications as directed Monitor patients closely before, during, and after procedures Assist with surgical preparation, positioning, and patient care Maintain accurate medical records and communicate important patient information Help ensure surgical areas, equipment, and supplies are clean, organized, and ready Anticipate the needs of the doctor and surgical team Work collaboratively to maintain efficient hospital flow Provide compassionate, professional care to patients and their families What We're Looking For Veterinary technician experience in a surgical or full-service small animal hospital Strong skills in anesthesia monitoring and recovery Experience with IV catheter placement and venipuncture Working knowledge of commonly used veterinary medications Strong patient handling and monitoring skills Excellent communication and teamwork Positive, professional attitude and willingness to help wherever needed Ability to stay organized and focused in a fast-paced environment Preferred experience includes: CT, orthopedic surgery, neurology/neurosurgery, dentistry, or emergency medicine.
