The Woodlands Animal Cancer and Referral Center is a privately owned specialty hospital dedicated to advanced cancer care and specialty medicine. Alongside our Texas Medical Center location, our team continues to grow and is seeking experienced technicians who thrive in a fast-paced specialty environment focused on exceptional patient care, advanced diagnostics, and collaborative medicine. We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Specialty Technician who is confident in advanced technical skills, anesthesia monitoring, patient care, and specialty procedures. This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys critical thinking, advanced medicine, and developing strong relationships with patients, clients, and the medical team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Advanced venipuncture and IV catheter placement Administer and monitor chemotherapy treatments Perform anesthesia calculations and monitoring for sedated procedures Assist with CT scans, aspirates, biopsies, thoracocentesis, abdominal fluid taps, and advanced diagnostics Perform phlebotomy from multiple vessels Obtain and accurately document patient vitals Perform laboratory procedures and sample handling Prepare and administer medications accurately Monitor hospitalized and critical oncology patients Educate and communicate compassionately with clients Collaborate closely with Oncology, Surgery, and ICU services
Ideal Candidate:
Experienced veterinary technician with strong technical abilities Comfortable in specialty or emergency medicine environments Strong anesthesia and patient monitoring skills Highly detail-oriented with excellent drug calculation abilities Able to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced hospital Compassionate communicator with strong client skills Oncology, ECC, surgery, or specialty experience strongly preferred LVT/RVT preferred
Minimum Qualifications:
3+ years veterinary technician experience required Specialty, emergency, or advanced GP experience preferred High school diploma or equivalent required
Schedule:
Full time Four 10 hour shifts Overtime opportunities available
