Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Technician, where your passion for animal care and technical expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. In this vital role, you will assist veterinarians with clinical procedures, provide compassionate animal handling, and ensure the highest standards of hygiene and safety. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, pet-centered environment dedicated to excellence in veterinary medicine. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining sterile environments using aseptic techniques. Collect medical samples such as blood, urine, or tissue for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling and handling. Perform animal restraint and handling for various species including dogs, cats, and equines to facilitate examinations and treatments safely. Conduct pet care activities such as grooming, feeding, administering medications, and maintaining cleanliness in kennels and treatment areas. Support critical veterinary care by monitoring patient vital signs, administering injections or medications like animal catheterization, and assisting with emergency procedures. Manage laboratory tasks including sample processing, running tests, and recording results accurately for diagnostic purposes. Handle animal husbandry duties with knowledge of animal anatomy to ensure proper care and comfort during hospital stays or treatments. Experience Prior kennel experience or pet care background demonstrating familiarity with animal handling and husbandry practices. Veterinary experience or certification that includes knowledge of veterinary terminology, pet grooming, dog training, and pet grooming techniques. Hands-on experience with medical collection procedures such as blood draws or lab sample collection. Animal restraint skills across multiple species with an emphasis on safety for both animals and staff. Knowledge of veterinary critical care practices including emergency response protocols and laboratory procedures.
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
