Job Description

Job Summary Seeking a veterinary technician to join Solace Veterinary Specialty Center in providing advanced surgical care to the greater Southern Utah community! Candidates must have strong background in general technician skills and previous experience working in a veterinary hospital. Strong emphasis will be on peri-operative care, administering and monitoring anesthesia, assisting in surgery, recovery from anesthesia, and post operative care. Responsibilities Prepare the surgical area and ensure all necessary instruments and equipment are sterile and ready for use. Assist during surgical procedures by providing instruments and supplies as needed. Monitor patients' vital signs and anesthesia levels throughout the surgery. Maintain an aseptic environment to prevent infection during procedures. Perform pre-operative and post-operative care, including animal restraint and catheterization. Document surgical procedures, patient information, and any observations accurately. Collaborate with veterinary staff to ensure optimal patient care and recovery. Provide education to pet owners regarding post-operative care and recovery processes. Qualifications Previous experience in a veterinary practice is required (Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant). Strong knowledge of anesthesia, pharmacology, anatomy, and physiology. Familiarity with surgical equipment and instruments. Experience with animal restraint and obtaining accurate radiographs Knowledge of aseptic techniques to maintain sterile environments during surgeries. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations, particularly in veterinary critical care settings. Effective communication skills Team player

$21.00 - $25.50 per hour
