Job Description

Role Description As a Veterinary Technician you will act as a liaison between the doctors and clients/patients by working directly with the doctors to deliver high-quality and compassionate clinical care. Core Responsibilities Customer service functions, including: greeting visitors, answering telephones when needed, and guiding clients to understanding pet health care Scheduling and confirming appointments Placing outbound calls for follow-ups and reaching out to clients in regard to medical results Managing medical records, charts, reports and correspondence Presenting and explaining fees to clients Recommending, selecting, and obtaining products and services Answering questions regarding products and services, including educating clients on general animal husbandry medical and non-medical pet care Hospital maintenance (including removal of animal waste) and ensuring that the facility is neat and clean at all times—both inside and outside Preparing, assisting & monitoring patients in surgery & other procedures Induction, monitoring and recovery of anesthesia in patients Perform digital radiography using proper technique Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vitals signs with the ability to alert the Veterinarian to critical changes and issues. Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR Be able to calculate dosage (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration. Medication processing that includes dispensing, advising & recording Bandaging, IV cath placement, medicine administration, wound clean-up Managing/completing worklists & follow-ups & cleaning routines Understanding small animal behavior & handling Reviewing & responding to clinic emails & texts Collection, prep & processing of samples for diagnostic purposes Obtaining vitals in both a non-emergent & emergent situations Discussing with clients the importance of the preventatives that we promote Qualifications 1-2 years of Technician experience is preferred License in good standing a plus but not required with equivalent experience High school diploma or equivalent, required What are we looking for? Schedule Monday-Friday:
8:00 am - 5:00pm; One Saturday per month 8:00 am to 1:00 pm

Full-time Pay Range:
$17-23 per hour, depending on experience
