Job Description

Old Dominion Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our growing Crozet team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping our community's pets live happy, healthy lives and who values personalized care, professionalism, and teamwork. The ideal candidate will hold an active Virginia LVT license and have previous experience working in a veterinary hospital. As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, you will: Assist veterinarians with appointments, examinations, treatments, and procedures while helping maintain an efficient daily appointment flow. Provide attentive, personalized care to hospitalized and post-operative patients. Monitor patients before, during, and after anesthesia. Perform technical duties such as venipuncture, catheter placement, laboratory testing, radiography, medication administration, and dental assistance within the scope of your license. Accurately document treatments, patient updates, and other relevant information in medical records. Prepare estimates and invoices and communicate clearly with clients regarding treatment plans, medications, and at-home care. Support and educate pet owners with empathy, patience, and professionalism. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked hospital environment. Build positive, professional relationships with veterinarians, fellow team members, clients, and patients. Contribute to a supportive team culture committed to providing the highest level of veterinary care.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will:
Hold a current Virginia license as a veterinary technician. Have previous experience working as an LVT in a veterinary hospital. Demonstrate strong technical, communication, and organizational skills. Be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively. Remain attentive and composed in a busy clinical environment. Approach clients, patients, and colleagues with compassion and professionalism. Share our commitment to detailed, individualized patient care. Have a good sense of humor- we also like to have fun and share laughs! Experience working with exotic animals is welcomed but not required.
