The Oncology Service (TOS) is a multi-facility small animal oncology practice. At TOS we believe that the diagnosis of cancer in a pet is not the end but rather the beginning of an opportunity to identify solutions that can improve that pet's quality of life while maximizing the time they have with their families. Whether the diagnosis carries a potentially curative prognosis or a much more guarded one, we are here to help. The ideal candidate should be direct, friendly, organized, resilient and flexible, and enjoy working with cats and dogs. Customer service, computer and multi-tasking skills are essential. Please be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and with taking direction from both doctors and fellow team members. You must be safety conscious and comfortable working around chemotherapeutics. We are very detail and safety-oriented, you should be as well. Duties include but are not limited to: Acquiring histories Obtaining blood samples Utilizing Idexx in-house lab equipment to run patient lab work Assisting doctors with exams Obtaining radiographs Flawless IV catheter placement Administering chemotherapy Obtaining radiographs Ability to induce and monitor general anesthesia Administer and monitor sedation for procedures Assist with radiation therapy procedures Patient care Client education and communication
