Veterinary Technician Animals First Veterinary Service in Rixeyville, VA is currently seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician that is committed to and values a holistic and compassionate approach to animal care, a self-starter that excels in a team environment, and will put forth the effort needed to achieve the high-quality service our clients expect. QUALIFICATIONS and DUTIES:
Previous relevant vet experience
REQUIRED
Must be 21 years of age or older Excellent communication skills, and teamwork abilities Must be willing to learn new and alternative treatment methods performed at AFVS Able to perform Venipuncture, IV Catheter placement, Subcutaneous injections, IM injections Able to or willing to learn to use and maintain in house laboratory equipment by Idexx and Abaxis or willing to learn these systems. Ability to lift and carry animals up to 30lbs unassisted. Ability to stand for extended periods; frequently work in a bent position. Fear-Free care of animals including restraint, X-Rays, laser, lab work, etc. Knowledge of the Electronic Medical Record system (EVet), preferred but not required Maintain a clean and orderly facility Honest, Confident, Mature, Good Hygiene, Great sense of humor Uphold positive, cooperative relationships with other employees. Perform other duties as assigned.
