If you're an experienced, compassionate, detail‑oriented technician who thrives in a supportive, drama‑free environment, you'll feel right at home here. ✨ Must Have Active Virginia LVT license (required — not optional) Strong veterinary medical experience Commitment to high‑quality patient care and client communication What You'll Do As an LVT at Courthouse Veterinary Hospital, you'll use your full range of technical skills every day, including: Taking patient histories, performing physical assessments, and documenting findings clearly Triage and assessment of stable vs. critical patients Communicating effectively with doctors, team members, and clients Educating clients on preventive care and follow‑up recommendations Performing venipuncture, running in‑house lab tests, preparing samples for outside labs, and relaying results Preparing exam rooms and assisting veterinarians during appointments Performing diagnostic imaging Setting up and monitoring fluid therapy, including infusion/syringe pumps, CRIs, and rate calculations Assisting in all aspects of surgery: pre‑medication, induction, anesthesia monitoring, surgical assisting, recovery, and pain management protocols Providing attentive nursing care for hospitalized patients, including medication administration (all routes) Admitting and discharging patients with clear client education Maintaining clean, organized, fully stocked treatment and exam areas Dispensing medications, preparing treatment sheets, discharge instructions, labels, and documentation What You Bring Active LVT license in Virginia Excellent communication and listening skills Strong work ethic and a positive, team‑oriented attitude Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast‑paced environment Compassionate, patient, and committed to high‑quality care Proficiency in: Anesthesia monitoring Dental prophylaxis Intubation Venipuncture IV catheter placement Radiology positioning Safe animal handling and restraint Why You'll Love Working Here A supportive, collaborative, no‑drama team culture A brand‑new, modern facility designed for excellent patient care Opportunities to use your full skill set and continue growing A leadership team that values your voice, your expertise, and your well‑being Schedule & Environment Full‑time position Fast‑paced clinical environment with hands‑on patient care Requires standing for long periods, lifting pets, and working around typical hospital noise and odors Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off Holiday pay Retirement plan
