Job Description
Job Summary Kestrel Veterinary Hospital is a small animal general practice in Edmonds, WA that opened in February, 2025. Kestrel Vet is independently and locally owned/operated by Dr. Kayla Hough. Current office hours are Monday-Thursday 8am-6 pm, with the potential to expand. We are seeking to hire a Veterinary Technician to join our team! Duties Assist with examinations, treatments and procedures with safe animal restraint, handling and positioning. Document patient information, history, and client communication accurately in veterinary practice management software. Provide excellent client communication and support via telephone, email, text or in-person regarding treatment plans, estimates, laboratory results and diagnostics as directed. Administer medications and treatments to hospitalized patients (monitoring, walking, feeding, etc.) Assist veterinarian with common surgical procedures while maintaining aseptic technique. Induction, intubation and maintenance of patients under gas anesthesia. Perform dental prophylaxis, preference given to applicants with experience and proficiency with dental extractions Prepare and maintain surgical areas, including cleaning and sterilization of instruments. Monitor vital signs, collect samples for in-house or reference laboratory analysis and perform diagnostic tests. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications (required): Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent Currently licensed or eligible to become licensed as a Veterinary Technician in the State of Washington The ideal candidate would have prior veterinary technician experience for at least 1-2+ years, but we are willing to consider recent LVT graduates of an
