Job Description

Full-Time | Leadership Role | Independently Owned Veterinary Clinic Join a legacy of compassionate care dating back to 1976. Animal Hospital at Hillshore is excited to welcome a Certified Veterinary Technician who is eager to step into a key leadership role as our practice continues to grow. This is a dynamic position for someone who loves guiding others, thrives in a collaborative environment, and wants to be part of a team that truly cares. In this role, you'll help lead our support team, assist in surgery, and elevate patient care and workflow standards. As we grow, you'll grow with us — with opportunities to influence protocols, mentor developing team members, and contribute to the long term vision of our hospital. Key Responsibilities Deliver compassionate, high quality nursing care to all patients Demonstrate strong knowledge of veterinary medicine and medical terminology Prepare and administer medications safely and accurately Perform medical math calculations with precision Safely restrain animals using lowstress handling techniques Perform radiology procedures following proper safety protocols Monitor anesthesia and assist in surgery and dental procedures Administer accurate drug and fluid doses Oversee and schedule veterinary assistants, kennel staff, and student workers Manage medication ordering and inventory Assist with reception when needed to support clinic flow Promote preventative care, nutrition, and hospital policies Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and continuing education Maintain vigilance regarding open doors, kennels, and patient safety Greet clients and patients proactively, using their names to build rapport Stay current with new technology and maintain required certification or licensure Qualifications Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) required Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology or equivalent Leadership or mentorship experience preferred Necessary Skills & Attributes Strong command of medical terminology Friendly, personable, and professional with clients and patients Calm and poised under pressure Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 60 lbs Respectful toward clients, team members, and patients (including those deceased) Professional appearance and demeanor Positive attitude that supports a healthy team culture Superior handling skills with both dogs and cats Reliable, proactive, and attentive to detail Commitment to confidentiality and ethical veterinary care What We Offer A leadership role with room for growth A supportive, collaborative team Competitive, experiencebased pay A workplace where your ideas and initiative are valued The opportunity to help shape the future of a growing, independently owned clinic

$22.00 - $32.00 per hour
