Certified Veterinary Technician
POYNETTE VETERINARY CARE, LLC
Overview Job Summary Poynette Veterinary Care is a family-owned small animal practice. We are located just 15 minutes north of Madison and seeking an enthusiastic team member to work as a Veterinary Technician in our beautiful full-service small animal practice. Applicants should ideally possess strong technical skills, including dentistry, surgical monitoring, and laboratory procedures, as well as excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask, and a passion for pets! This is a part-time to full-time position, with the successful applicant being able to work a variety of hours between 8 am and 6 pm, with one Saturday morning per month totaling 25-40 hours a week. Job Duties Include Doctor and technician appointments (vaccine administration and surgical patient discharges) collecting patient history, client education, preparing and performing laboratory procedures (fecal, urine, and blood analysis), nail trims, animal restraint, and providing laser therapy. Experience Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role is preferred. Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices is advantageous. Knowledge of veterinary terminology is essential for effective communication within the team. Experience with laboratory procedures and equipment is highly desirable.
