Founded in 1956, RM Cotton has grown into a 26-person team comprised of inside & outside sales engineers and a full team of product support specialists. HVAC Service Support Technician Location:
West Fargo, ND Job Description:
As a HVAC Service Support Technician, you will have daily interactions with onsite (field) personnel including engineers, contractors, owners and other technicians. You will confirm the proper installation of newly installed equipment and perform factory authorized startups which include commissioning of all system aspects including but not limited to BAS interfaces, combustion analysis, pumping and flows. You will also be responsible for repairing, troubleshooting and training on all equipment sold by RM Cotton. Equipment and parts sales to end users or to mechanical contractors as needed/requested. When available/needed, you will assist outside sales engineers with quotes.
Job Duties:
Provide accurate field assessments of newly installed equipment to ensure compliance with local code and manufacture's recommended installation guidelines Perform factory authorized startup on newly installed equipment and submit required documentation Facilitate technical training for onsite maintenance personnel on the newly installed equipment Work with installing contractors (mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and controls) to answer installation and operation questions Trouble-shoot on-site equipment installations Complete job-site walkthroughs by creating documentation of existing equipment, measurements and drawings to assist in retrofit opportunities Verify boilers/pumps are ready for startup by performing a pre-startup check list Support the sales process by providing accurate quote estimates, finalize submittals and O&M manuals, meet with engineers, contractors and customers, and create/issue POs for projects as needed.
Job Requirements:
High School diploma (two-year associates degree in HVAC preferred) Confidence working from electrical schematic, drawings, plans or specifications Possess hands-on skills and knowledge to complete required repairs and maintenance on commercial HVAC systems (including boilers, burners, pumps, VFD'S, automation/controls systems and associated electrical systems) Ability to effectively use computers and computer programs Skilled in relationship building with an interest in sales and account management preferred
