Location:
Paris, TX Position Summary Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician II to support commercial and industrial facility operations. This role is responsible for performing preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance, as well as troubleshooting and servicing HVAC systems. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical ability, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining high safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance on HVAC systems Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC equipment and components Service systems including ACUs, AHUs, heat pumps, VAV systems, DDC controls, and ventilation systems Conduct system testing, operational rounds, and data analysis to ensure proper performance Maintain and service chillers, boilers, and kitchen equipment (preferred experience) Read and interpret sequence of operations, blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and ensure optimal system efficiency Operate refrigerant recovery equipment, vacuum pumps, charging equipment, and service gauges Perform brazing of refrigerant piping and lubricate mechanical components such as fans and motors Diagnose HVAC system issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions Document all maintenance activities, findings, repairs, and recommendations in service reports Maintain accurate logs including equipment performance, refrigerant usage, filter changes, and system pressures Ensure proper inventory of filters, belts, and critical spare parts Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition Order supplies as needed for preventative maintenance and repairs Assist with major repairs and collaborate with maintenance team members and CMMS planners Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergency service Safety & Compliance Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times Complete job hazard analyses prior to performing maintenance tasks Handle, store, and dispose of hazardous materials according to policy Maintain awareness of emergency equipment locations and proper use
Qualifications Education:
High school diploma required 2-year HVAC technical certification or state-approved HVAC license preferred
Experience:
Proven experience working with commercial and/or industrial HVAC systems Strong background in HVAC maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair
Licenses/Certifications:
Valid driver's license required EPA Universal Refrigeration Certification required Technical Skills & Abilities Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls, and components Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and manuals Proficiency with HVAC diagnostic tools and service equipment Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills Ability to maintain accurate logs and service documentation Basic computer proficiency (CMMS, reporting, email systems) Strong verbal and written communication skills; bilingual (Spanish) is a plus Additional Requirements Ability to work independently and within a team environment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Willingness to attend OEM training and technical development programs Ability to work on-call and respond to emergency service needs Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and professionalism
