About Us For over 20 years, Asia Physio has supported skiers, snowboarders, and travellers throughout Japan's winter season. With clinics across major destinations including Niseko, Rusutsu, Hakuba, Myoko, Nozawa Onsen, and soon Furano for the 2026/27 season, we are an established part of life in the snow. Our work goes beyond treatment - we help people stay active, recover quickly, and make the most of their time on the mountain. Every role contributes to this, from reception and clinic operations through to hands-on care and behind-the-scenes support. Our clinics are fast-paced international environments, but also friendly, supportive, and team-focused. Position Overview We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Hybrid Physiotherapist to join our winter clinics for the 2026/27 season. This is a great opportunity for new grads or early-career physiotherapists (1-3 years of MSK experience) looking to build hands-on experience in a unique setting. You will work independently and under supervision of senior clinicians, assist in patient care, and contribute to the overall clinic experience. In this dynamic role, you'll be an all-rounder, performing physiotherapy assessments and treatments, providing therapeutic and sports massages, and supporting daily clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities Clinical & Patient Care:
Independently assess, treat, and manage a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries, with a focus on ski and snowboard-related conditions, including a high volume of acute knee injuries (e.g., ACL ruptures) Independently facilitate onward imaging (e.g., MRI/X-ray) as required Rebook follow-up appointments and help manage practitioner diaries Maintain accurate and timely clinical notes and patient records Deliver evidence-based practice with clinical supervision Perform therapeutic and sports massage therapy to support patient recovery and rehabilitation
Sales & Administration:
Greet patients, assist with check-ins, and provide a welcoming clinic environment Assist with customer service inquiries and off the shelf product recommendations to walk-in clients Facilitate patient transport as required Maintain stock levels and assist in clinic stock reporting What We're Looking For Bachelor or Master's Degree in Physiotherapy (qualified/registered in Australia, New Zealand or the UK is highly regarded) Minimum 1 year of experience in private practice, sports settings, and/or treating musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-orientated environment A proactive, customer-first attitude with a willingness to help in all aspects of the clinic Fluent in English (verbal/written) Adaptable and comfortable living in shared accommodation Eligible for a Working Holiday Visa or valid work permit in Japan (please ensure you meet the eligibility criteria before submitting your application) Eligible for an International Driving Permit in Japan What We Offer Work, live and gain experience in Japan's top ski destinations Join a team who made the mountains their workplace and the winter season their way of life Exposure to a high volume of snow sport-related injuries, particularly knee injuries (e.g., ACL ruptures) Hands-on mentorship from experience physiotherapists Opportunity to work alongside globally renowned sports medicine practitioner Dr Tom Cross in managing acute ACL ruptures using the Cross Bracing Protocol Company-wise insurance for practising physiotherapists Competitive seasonal pay with performance-based bonuses, plus full training and onboarding Balanced shifts (8:00am-2:00pm / 2:00pm-8:00pm) so you can enjoy the snow and lifestyle Staff accommodation available close to work and ski lifts Organised transport to help access shops and towns Visa support and assistance settling into life in Japan Plus social activities, staff parties and dinners!
