In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by performing clinical hygiene procedures and educating patients on the importance of oral health. As a Hygienist, you will work collaboratively with our dental team to ensure every patient receives a positive and thorough experience while maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence and infection control. Perform comprehensive clinical hygiene procedures, including oral prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing, sealant application, and fluoride treatments Conduct thorough oral cancer screenings and take dental radiographs using proper X-ray techniques Educate patients on effective oral hygiene methods, demonstrating proper brushing and flossing techniques, and provide personalized recommendations for maintaining optimal oral health Obtain, review, and update patient dental and health histories, ensuring all documentation is accurate and current for returning and new patients Communicate professionally with the dentist regarding clinical findings, identifying opportunities for restorative and periodontal treatment recommendations Maintain meticulous clinical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and practice standards Sterilize and maintain clinical instruments and equipment according to infection control protocols Support the dental team in creating a welcoming, organized, and efficient clinical environment Assist in patient scheduling and treatment coordination to optimize practice flow Qualifications
  • Required Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or certificate in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program Valid Kansas state dental hygiene license X-Ray/Radiology certification Local anesthesia certification (as required by Kansas state regulations) Nitrous oxide certification (as required by Kansas state regulations) Strong clinical skills in oral prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and patient assessment Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to educate and engage patients effectively Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and dental practice management software Knowledge of infection control protocols and HIPAA compliance requirements Physical ability to perform clinical duties, including prolonged standing, sitting, and bending for extended periods Manual dexterity and fine motor control for precise clinical procedures •
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working in a dental practice or clinical healthcare setting Experience with advanced dental technologies and digital radiography systems Demonstrated ability to build strong patient relationships and provide compassionate care Experience in patient education and health promotion Bilingual communication skills Certification in CPR/BLS Experience with periodontal treatment and maintenance protocols Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
