Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Hyperbaric Technician to join our team. As a Technician, you will be responsible for performing various technical tasks and providing support in our organization. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills. Hyperbaric technicians are responsible for operating hyperbaric chambers, administering therapy, monitoring patients, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
Key Responsibilities Administer Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy :
Hyperbaric technicians provide hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients as prescribed by physicians, ensuring the correct settings and protocols are followed i
Operate and Monitor Equipment :
They are responsible for operating hyperbaric chambers and other support systems, monitoring equipment performance, and
Patient Assessment and Monitoring :
Technicians assess patients' conditions before and after treatments, documenting vital signs and any changes in their health status during therapy
Maintain Equipment and Cleanliness :
Regular maintenance and cleaning of hyperbaric chambers and related equipment are crucial to prevent infections and ensure safety. Technicians must follow strict infection control policies .
Emergency Response :
They must be prepared to respond to emergencies, including monitoring for potential complications during treatment and performing basic life support if necessary
Patient Education :
Hyperbaric technicians educate patients and their families about the treatment process, potential side effects, and safety measures
Documentation :
Accurate documentation of treatment details, including equipment settings and patient responses, is essential for maintaining medical records and ensuring continuity of care Work Environment Hyperbaric technicians typically work in clinical settings, such as hospitals or outpatient facilities, and may also be involved in diving operations. The role requires collaboration with healthcare professionals, including nurses and physicians, to provide comprehensive patient care Qualifications To become a hyperbaric technician, candidates usually need a background in a medical field, such as nursing or respiratory therapy, Medical Assistant, EMT along with certification as a hyperbaric technologist (training provided). This role is critical in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which is used to treat various medical conditions, including decompression sickness and carbon monoxide poisoning.
