Job Description The Instrument & Controls (I&C) Coordinator is responsible for providing technical expertise and coordination for instrumentation and control systems within operations and maintenance environments. This role supports maintenance teams, troubleshooting efforts, and project activities while ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards. The position requires strong technical knowledge of control systems, analyzers, and instrumentation, along with the ability to collaborate across disciplines and influence outcomes without direct authority. Responsibilities Provide subject matter expertise for instrumentation, control systems, analyzers, and related equipment Support maintenance teams with troubleshooting, diagnostics, and resolution of complex technical issues Ensure compliance with safety, health, security, and environmental (SSHE) requirements Implement and support maintenance design philosophies and project specifications for I&C systems Participate in risk assessments, incident investigations, and engineering studies (including pre-FEED and conceptual design) Assist in maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution, including turnaround and project support activities Support cost management initiatives and identify opportunities for productivity improvement Provide technical input into training development and assist in knowledge transfer to operations and maintenance personnel Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure efficient system performance Participate in design reviews and provide constructability and maintainability input Share best practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and provide clear recommendations for issue resolution Skills Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for instrumentation and control systems Knowledge of maintenance planning, scheduling, and management practices Understanding of SSHE (Safety, Security, Health, and Environment) standards and compliance Ability to analyze complex technical issues and recommend effective solutions Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence without authority Collaboration and teamwork across multi-disciplinary groups Adaptability to changing priorities, tight deadlines, and high workload environments Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to clearly document field conditions and recommend corrective actions Qualifications Previous experience in instrumentation and controls, maintenance, or a related technical field Relevant technical certification(s) or equivalent professional experience preferred Experience supporting operations and maintenance in industrial environments Familiarity with control systems, analyzers, PLCs, and distributed control systems (DCS) preferred Demonstrated ability to support troubleshooting, maintenance activities, and project execution Strong understanding of safety and operational standards within industrial settings
