Primary responsibilities Work independently and weigh trucks in and out of the facility Greet and direct all customers and employees upon entry of the pit Answer phone in a professional and enthusiastic manner Perform clerical and general office duties in support of the job site Track weight information from scale to computer system and obtain appropriate signatures Calculate payments for customers Ensure customers and employees conduct business in a safe manner and wear required PPE Provide general upkeep of the scale house, including daily cleaning Support employees, customers, and vendors with a friendly and service-minded approach Other duties may be assigned Basic Qualifications Valid State of Idaho drivers license and satisfactory driving record Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background check Prior cash handling experience is required Verifiable work history of at least two years in a general office or similar (construction industry experience in helpful) High school diploma or GED is desired but not required First Aid & CPR Certified is desired but not required Ability to effectively communicate with team, supervisors, vendors, clients, and general community Excellent customer service skills Ability to multi-task and make sound judgement calls Knowledge knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures knowledge of record keeping systems knowledge of general office equipment and procedures knowledge of office cleaning standards Skills client service and public interaction skills team building analytical and problem solving skills decision making skills effective verbal and listening communications skills ability to communicate effectively in English ability to read and write effectively to manage office environment stress management skills time management skills Personal Attributes be honest and trustworthy be respectful possess cultural awareness and sensitivity be flexible demonstrate sound work ethics deal with the public in a positive, courteous and respectful manner Working Conditions Physical Demands Ability to work long hours when applicable, lift up to 20 pounds on occasion, ability to undergo environmental conditions such as excessive noise and extreme temperatures, and ability to do a complete walkaround - inspecting the operating conditions and scale house area. Environmental Conditions This position may work outside at times in all different weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat. He/she may at times be exposed to dangerous and/or toxic substances and must take necessary precautions to protect eyes, nose and skin from irritation and infection. Mental Demands Must work independently and is expected to maintain a schedule of work.
