IEP Case Manager/Special Education Teacher

Preschool Teacher of Children with Disabilities/IEP Case Manager This is a 40 hour per week, calendar year position with our CDS Circle of Learning Preschool Program in Gray, working with preschool children with disabilities ages 3-5.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The IEP Case Manager/Special Education Teacher is a member of the IEP team and provides services to children ages 3-5 and ensures that services meet the requirements of the Individuals with Disabilities Educational Improvement Act (IDEA) of 2004 and Maine's Unified Special Education Regulations Chapter 101. This position will involve both classroom teaching and case management.

REPRESENTATIVE TASKS

Teaching preschool children in a preschool classroom Case managing the IEP process for each child assigned to the preschool classroom, which includes: Writing the annual and any amended IEPs Writing the Written Notice for each IEP meeting Collecting data for each child in the preschool classroom Supporting the supervision of Ed Techs in assigned classroom

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

282b (Teacher of Children with Disabilities- PRE-KIND) or 286 (Teacher of Severely Impaired Students) certification required Successful background, criminal records, and reference check

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
