In this vital role, you will empower individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other special needs to live more independent and fulfilling lives. Your enthusiasm, compassion, and proactive approach will help clients develop essential life skills, enhance their daily routines, and foster a safe, supportive environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while gaining valuable experience in behavioral health, caregiving, and community support. Duties Provide personalized training to individuals with disabilities on daily living skills, including hygiene, meal preparation, and household chores Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and mobility support Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and social interactions Support clients in developing communication skills using methods like American Sign Language or other augmentative communication tools Collect and document data related to client progress, behavior patterns, and service outcomes accurately and consistently Administer medications as prescribed following all safety protocols and documentation requirements Collaborate with families, social workers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support tailored to each individual's needs Qualifications Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or behavioral health challenges preferred Knowledge of special education principles and behavior management techniques Familiarity with home & community care practices and assisting with ADLs Ability to communicate effectively using verbal skills or American Sign Language; strong interpersonal skills are essential Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to operate a vehicle safely for client transportation Prior caregiving or direct support experience is highly desirable Strong organizational skills for data collection and documentation Compassionate attitude with a commitment to empowering individuals toward independence Join us in creating a positive impact through compassionate support and empowering training!
