In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient-centered care to individuals living with Parkinson's, supporting their physical, emotional, and daily needs. Your expertise will help improve quality of life for our patients while ensuring adherence to safety and medical protocols. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those navigating complex neurological conditions. Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive personal care, including hygiene, mobility assistance, and medication administration, tailored specifically for patients with Parkinson's disease. Monitor and record vital signs, neurological status, and medication responses accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Assist with mobility aids and equipment, including Hoyer lifts and gait belts, ensuring safe transfers and repositioning for patients with mobility challenges. Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs of Parkinson's patients. Support patients during activities of daily living while promoting independence and dignity, especially in memory care and dementia-related scenarios. Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, HIPAA regulations, and medical documentation standards. Engage in ongoing training related to advanced patient care techniques such as ICU procedures, acute care practices, and behavioral health management. Requirements Valid CNA certification with at least five years of direct experience working with individuals diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Extensive knowledge of Parkinson's-specific symptoms, medication management, and motor/non-motor symptom management strategies. Experience working in diverse healthcare settings including hospitals (Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care environments. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation. Proficiency in vital signs measurement, anatomy and physiology knowledge, and basic life support (BLS) certification. Ability to handle complex cases involving dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, infectious disease care, and behavioral health issues. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support patient families. Join us in providing compassionate care that transforms lives!
