Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated In-Home Respite Workers to provide essential support and care to individuals with disabilities, seniors, and those in need of assistance within their homes. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in clients' lives by offering relief to primary caregivers and ensuring the well-being of those requiring specialized care. The ideal candidate will be patient, attentive, and experienced in various aspects of home and community care. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences Monitor and record vital signs, observe patient conditions, and report any changes to supervising healthcare professionals Administer medications accurately following care plans and HIPAA regulations Support clients with memory care needs, including dementia or Alzheimer's care, ensuring safety and comfort Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts safely during transfers Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry Follow prescribed care plans diligently, including documentation of patient progress and incidents Comply with all healthcare regulations and standards related to home health, hospice care, or assisted living environments Skills Valid certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA compliance are preferred Experience working in group homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care settings Strong patient observation skills to monitor vital signs, recognize symptoms of distress or deterioration, and respond appropriately Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety protocols for patients with complex needs Ability to assist with ADLs and provide specialized dementia or Alzheimer's care Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder is advantageous Capable of heavy lifting when necessary for client transfers or mobility assistance Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams Compassionate attitude with a focus on person-centered care; understanding of social work principles is a plus Ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism in a home environment This position is ideal for caring individuals committed to enhancing the quality of life for vulnerable populations through dedicated caregiving. Applicants should possess relevant experience in home health or long-term care settings and demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting others.
Pay:
$12.00 - $13.50 per hour
