East River Contracting is hiring a full-time Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet, equipment, and small engines. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in fixing problems, and wants to continue growing their mechanical skills in a steady, year-round position. Whether you have years of experience or recently completed a diesel or automotive program, we want dependable people who are willing to learn and work hard. ?? What You'll Do Maintain and repair company vehicles, trailers, equipment, and small engines Perform preventative maintenance including oil changes, fluid checks, greasing, filters, and inspections Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel, gas, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues Complete repairs efficiently to minimize downtime and keep crews moving Track service intervals and identify maintenance needs before breakdowns happen Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop environment ?? What We're Looking For Mechanical experience or technical training in diesel, automotive, or equipment repair Preferred to have direct experience as a diesel mechanic Basic understanding of engines, tools, and preventative maintenance Willingness to learn and continue developing mechanical skills Ability to work independently and stay organized Dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented Welding and fabrication experience is a plus Valid driver's license required
