Job Description

SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking an Indirect Tax Team Lead responsible for overseeing indirect tax compliance, systems, and governance processes for Mortenson and its entities. The position partners closely with Finance Operations, Legal, ITS, and external advisors to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant indirect tax outcomes while supporting scalable business growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee preparation and filing of indirect tax returns monthlyResearch indirect tax requirements for new activities and entitiesDetermine personal property tax requirements and review renditions in various tax jurisdictionsReview tax inquiries and lead exemption certificate managementManage tax calendar, matrices, tax rates, and general ledger account reconciliationsReview of Vertex calculations, optimize configuration of system with technology partnersDevelop and improve indirect tax ,proceduresManage sales, use, excise, and property tax audits Manage resolution of sales, use, excise, and property tax notices from state and local tax authorities
QUALIFICATIONS

  • $141,300. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL
  • 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR

5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
