Pay:
Starts at $30.00 per hour (rate may be higher based on experience) About the Role We are hiring an Industrial Electrical Technician to support the performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of automated manufacturing and packaging systems. This role focuses on maintaining electrical and control systems, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring safe, efficient operations in a regulated production environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with PLCs, electrical systems, and automated equipment, along with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and maintain automated filling and packaging equipment Support both electrical and electromechanical aspects of production systems Diagnose and repair control systems including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo motors, and encoders Perform electrical troubleshooting on components such as relays, breakers, wiring, fuses, starters, and terminals Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical and safety systems Identify and resolve equipment issues using schematics and diagnostic tools Interpret complex electrical diagrams and correlate them to machine layouts Inspect control panels and circuitry to identify potential problem areas Maintain equipment in a validated state to support product quality standards Assist in ordering replacement parts and coordinating repairs Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to resolve issues efficiently Document processes, system functions, and repair activities clearly Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout protocols Ensure all guards, interlocks, and safety devices are functioning properly Maintain a clean and organized work area in line with 5S standards Adhere to all regulatory, quality, and safety guidelines (including cGMP practices) Communicate effectively with team members and leadership Be available for overtime as needed
Qualifications Education & Credentials:
High School Diploma or GED required Virginia Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent technical training preferred Training or certification related to the National Electrical Code (NEC) is a plus
Skills & Experience:
Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems Experience with PLC troubleshooting and automated equipment Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Good written and verbal communication skills High attention to detail and commitment to quality Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly pay based on experience 401(k) with 4.5% company match (immediate vesting) 12 paid holidays annually 5 paid sick days and 2 personal days Company-paid short-term disability insurance Life and AD&D insurance coverage We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
