Job Description

About us: ArcelorMittal Tubular Products (AMTP) in Shelby, Ohio produces welded and seamless precision tubes in a wide spectrum of carbon and alloy grades and offers one of the most extensive size ranges in the world. Our tubular products serve a variety of markets including automotive, industrial and construction equipment, hydraulic cylinders, agricultural equipment and mineral mining equipment. The position requires the flexibility to work any shift, overtime as needed, plus a 7-day work week when production demands.
Your role:
The ArcelorMittal Tubular Products (AMTP) Industrial Electrician will report to the Maintenance Supervisors and perform all required operations in the installation, maintenance, and repair of a variety of electrical equipment and wiring such as motors, generators, switchboards, lighting and power circuits, starters, cranes and trucks.
Main tasks:
  • Receive work assignments from Supervisor and perform work with minimal amount of supervision.
  • Apply electrical theory to determine root cause of failures and their corrective actions.
  • Perform preventative maintenance task and report findings.
  • Interpret electrical schematics and PLC programs.
  • Perform conduit installation and wire sizing.
  • Understand the functions of electrical and electro-mechanical items such as sensors, relays, limit switches, flow switches, valves, etc.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of motors up to 2400VAC and 500VDC.
  • Use electrical testing equipment such as digital multimeters, insulation testers and thermal imagers.
  • Exercise proper care of machinery and equipment.
Must have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Completion of journeyman certification in an industrial environment or 5 years of experience in industrial electricity.
  • Electrical license preferred.
  • Electrical knowledge, including 24 volts.
  • Experience with PLC programs.
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, drawings, sketches, and plans.
  • Experience using various hand tools, wrenches, power hand tools, torches and required equipment to complete task.
  • Basic PC skills.
  • Candidate must possess the physical ability to frequently lift, climb stairs, stand, walk, crouch, squat, bend, kneel and move throughout the plant as needed.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Experience operating mobile equipment such as forklift, scissor and articulating lifts.
  • Participate actively in the training of other maintenance personnel.
  • Observe all safety regulations.
