Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Industrial Engineering Intern to join our team. This internship offers hands-on experience in process improvement, operational efficiency, data analysis, and project management within a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline and is eager to apply classroom knowledge to real-world business challenges Key Responsibilities. Assist in analyzing production processes, workflows, and operational systems to identify improvement opportunities Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process optimization methodologies Collect, organize, and analyze operational data to support decision-making Participate in time studies, workflow mapping, and capacity analysis Help develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, supply chain, and maintenance Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for engineering and management teams Support facility layout planning and material flow analysis Contribute to cost reduction and productivity improvement projects Perform other engineering-related duties as assigned Qualifications Required Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or related field Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Preferred Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement principles Experience with data visualization or analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Minitab Knowledge of AutoCAD or other engineering software Prior internship, co-op, or project experience in manufacturing or operations environments What You'll Gain Real-world engineering and operational experience Exposure to manufacturing and business improvement strategies Mentorship from experienced engineering professionals Opportunities to contribute to impactful projects Professional development and networking opportunities Your contact person: Mirwais Ghani, People & Organization Detroit, MI Get to know us here and find out why we are passionate about attracting talent to Webasto.
