Industrial Environmental Water & Wastewater Systems Engineer
- Must be US Persons Onsite | Southern Nebraska & Western Kansas Locations may include: South Sioux City, Norfolk, Columbus, Fremont, Lincoln (NE area) and Garden City, KS The Opportunity We are seeking a hands‑on Engineer focused on all aspects of water and wastewater systems within a manufacturing environment.
This role owns the full lifecycle of water—from incoming treatment through process use and final wastewater handling. If you have experience in municipal or industrial water treatment , food or fermentation processing, or utility systems and want a role with real ownership, visibility, and impact, this is it. This is not a remote or hybrid role . You'll be onsite, working directly with operations, utilities, and production teams. Travel will occur between Garden City, KS and South Sioux City, NE . Salary is flexible for the right experience. What You'll Be Doing Own and manage water resource management and wastewater systems across manufacturing sites Develop, document, and maintain operating practices for water and wastewater treatment systems Oversee water quality standards and implement preferred water treatment technologies Manage water conditioning , utilities, and wastewater treatment infrastructure Serve as the technical owner for CIP systems, sanitary design, and fermentation water systems Support and optimize industrial wastewater pretreatment and primary treatment processes Work directly on the production floor solving real-time water and utility challenges Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and leadership to ensure compliance and performance Background We're Looking For BS Degree required (Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or similar) 2+ years of experience in engineering, water/wastewater operations, utilities, or process environments Experience in food processing, fermentation, or manufacturing is a plus, not required Hands-on experience with water treatment processes and systems such as: Coagulation & flocculation Sedimentation Membrane filtration Biological treatment Disinfection systems Knowledge of industrial wastewater pretreatment and regulatory expectations Experience developing SOPs and operating documentation for water systems #GRP2 Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, term life insurance, short-term disability insurance, additional voluntary benefits, commuter benefits and 401K plan.
