Industrial Paint Technician

BMarko Structures Job Summary BMarko Structures is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Paint Technician to prepare, coat, and finish steel and structural components in accordance with project specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with industrial coatings, strong attention to safety, and the ability to produce high-quality finishes in a production or field environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare steel and structural surfaces for painting, including cleaning, degreasing, sanding, grinding, and abrasive blasting as required Apply industrial coatings using spray, brush, and roll techniques in accordance with manufacturer specifications Mix paints and coatings, ensuring correct ratios, viscosity, and pot life Inspect surfaces and finished coatings for quality, thickness, and coverage Follow coating specifications, drawings, and work instructions Maintain painting equipment, spray booths, and work areas in a clean and safe condition Comply with all safety procedures, including PPE use and hazardous material handling Identify and report coating defects or material issues to supervision Assist with touch-ups, rework, and final finish work as needed Support production schedules and meet project deadlines Required Qualifications 2+ years of experience as an industrial or structural painter (steel fabrication experience preferred) Knowledge of industrial coatings, primers, and surface preparation standards Experience using airless and conventional spray equipment Ability to read and understand work instructions and safety data sheets (SDS) Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift materials, and work in industrial environments Preferred Qualifications Certification or training in industrial coatings or corrosion control Experience with structural steel, bridges, or heavy industrial projects Familiarity with quality standards such as

SSPC/NACE

(or equivalent) Forklift, manlift, or scaffold experience Work Environment & Physical Requirements Work may be performed in fabrication shops or outdoor job sites Exposure to fumes, dust, and varying temperatures Must be able to wear required PPE including respirators Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces as required

Pay:

$24.27 - $29.23 per hour
