The Industrial Painter is responsible for applying paint and protective coatings to manufactured products to ensure a high-quality finish that meets company and customer specifications. The Industrial Paint will perform surface preparation, operation of spray equipment, and adherence to safety and quality standards in a production environment Roles and Responsibilities Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming as required Apply paint, coatings, and finishes using spray guns, rollers, or brushes depending on product specifications Mix paints and coatings to correct color, consistency, and viscosity per technical data sheets Operate and maintain painting equipment which include spray booths and curing ovens Inspect finished products to ensure coating quality, thickness, and adherence to standards Perform touch-ups and rework as needed to meet quality requirements Follow work orders, blueprints, and technical instructions accurately Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with 5S and safety standards Adhere to all OSHA, environmental, and company safety policies, including proper handling of hazardous materials Collaborate with production and quality teams to meet deadlines and resolve defects Required Qualifications 2+ years of experience in industrial painting, powder coating, or automotive/manufacturing finishing Experience with spray equipment (e.g., HVLP, airless spray systems) Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and coating applications Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, or job travelers Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to fumes, noise, and varying temperatures Preferred Qualifications Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity Basic troubleshooting skills for equipment and coating issues Team-oriented with strong communication skills Familiarity with coating thickness measurement tools (e.g., mil gauges) Forklift certification is a plus (if applicable to your facility)
