RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB ACTIVITIES 1.
Evaluate and analyzes product requirements, objectives, and constraints. 2. Assists with developing technical and functional specifications for mechanical products. 3. Aid in identifying appropriate materials and processes to develop effective solutions that meet the outlined specifications and manufacturing cost requirements for products. 4. Help maintain the injection mold tool status and injection mold processing spreadsheets. 5. Prepares technical documents detailing designs, instructions, and specifications. 6. Utilizes CAD software and other design and modeling tools to develop mechanical manufacturing parts and/or components and communicate conceptual designs to stakeholders. 7. Conceptualize and develop new products that can be effectively manufactured. 8. Conducts simulations and prototype testing to evaluate product safety, reliability, and performance. 9. Assists with plastic processing on injection molders. 10. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design (or similar degree).
EXPERIENCE
7+ plus years of design experience with injection molded plastic products. A basic understanding of injection molding principles. Proven project management experience from initial product planning and scope definition through delivery to customers.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
SolidWorks, Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator. Must be open-minded, team-oriented, clear communicator, with excellent analytical and critical thinking skills. Should have a good mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn new processes. Must be able to work with minimum supervision, meet time sensitive deadlines, keep accurate records, work in a collaborative environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods of time. Should be able to occasionally lift 25 lbs.
