Job Description

Lead Infant Teacher Position Overview We are seeking a passionate, energetic, and nurturing Lead Infant Teacher to join our team at Grandma's House Childcare. This leadership role involves guiding classroom activities, supporting developmental growth, and creating a safe, loving, and faith-based environment for infants. You will work closely with staff and families to support each child's early learning journey in a structured, supportive setting. Key Responsibilities Lead daily classroom care, routines, and learning activities for infants Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum Observe, document, and support each child's developmental progress Supervise and support assistant and float staff in the classroom Maintain compliance with licensing rules and safety standards Communicate regularly with families regarding development and needs Maintain a safe, clean, nurturing, and structured classroom environment Use positive guidance techniques that support emotional and social development Requirements (State Licensed Position) Must be at least 19 years old with a high school diploma or GED Must meet Michigan Child Care Lead Teacher qualifications (or be eligible to complete within required timelines) Infant/toddler training required within 6 months of hire (as required by state licensing) Experience in early childhood education preferred (infants/toddlers strongly preferred) Must meet background check and health requirements CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain Must be able to provide direct care and supervision for at least 6 hours per day in a full-day program Schedule Minimum of 6 hours per day Flexible scheduling available when possible Benefits Free childcare for eligible staff Flexible scheduling Paid sick leave Parental leave Ongoing training and professional development Supportive, faith-based team environment Leadership mentoring and onboarding support Training & Support Our previous Lead Teacher remains on staff in a reduced role and will provide training and support during transition.
