Basic life support Full Job Description Job Overview PART time We are seeking a part time dedicated and highly skilled Infusion Nurse to provide expert intravenous therapy and patient care across diverse clinical settings. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in infusion therapy, with a strong background in various specialties such as ophthalmology, critical care, cardiology, and long-term care. As an Infusion Nurse, you will deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care while ensuring adherence to healthcare standards and protocols. Your expertise will contribute significantly to patient recovery and comfort through precise medication administration and skilled vascular access. Duties Administer IV infusions, medications, and therapies following established protocols, including complex treatments such as botulinum toxin injections and dialysis procedures. Assess patient conditions through comprehensive physical examinations, vital sign monitoring, and physiological evaluations to determine appropriate infusion plans. Maintain aseptic technique during insertion and care of catheters, ports, and other vascular access devices to prevent infections. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, pharmacists, and laboratory personnel to coordinate care plans tailored to individual patient needs. Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients and their families on infusion procedures, medication effects, and post-treatment care to promote understanding and adherence. Monitor for adverse reactions or complications during infusions, providing immediate intervention when necessary to ensure patient safety. Participate in quality improvement initiatives aligned with NCQA standards and infection control protocols to enhance service delivery. Qualifications Valid nursing license with current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Proven experience in infusion therapy within hospital settings, outpatient clinics, or home care environments. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation. Extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology related to IV medications, and aseptic techniques. Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, patients with developmental disabilities, or those requiring hospice & palliative medicine services. Skills in venipuncture (venipuncture), IV insertion, catheter care, phlebotomy, and specimen collection/processing. Ability to manage multiple patients efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient safety and comfort. Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding for procedures performed, and familiarity with laboratory testing procedures is advantageous.
