The start date of this position is August 24, 2026. The end date is May 23, 2027.
Duties:
1.
Teaching:
Develop and teach courses in Human Anatomy and Physiology, Statistics and Research Methods, and Exercise Physiology Lab Demonstrate command of their subject matter. Have well organized course plans and deliver courses clearly to students Use high impact, active, and inclusive teaching practices Incorporate assessment of program student learning outcomes into relevant courses Help students fulfill their academic needs Maintain a consistent and positive student teaching evaluation record Advise students regarding both specific coursework and broader academic or career goals, both inside and outside the classroom 2.
Supervision:
Potential supervision of student internships as part of teaching workload in Department 3.
Research, Service:
There is no expectation of the following as part of this position: formal advising, conduct research in the department, or contribute to service responsibilities at the department, collegiate, campus or university level.
Qualifications Required:
Masters degree from an accredited university in Exercise Science or related field One year of relevant teaching experience at the college level (graduate TA experience acceptable) Effective written communication skills appropriate to the position.
Preferred:
Terminal degree from a regionally accredited university in Exercise Science or relevant field Experience teaching a variety of upper and lower division courses such as those offered by the UMD Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences Program Effective teaching, organizational, and communication skills appropriate to the position Experience in using technology for teaching. Demonstrated experience with assessment and alignment of course learning outcomes with program learning goals. Evidence of the ability to work effectively with diverse groups
Pay and Benefits Pay Range:
$45,000 - $65,000 per year; depending on education/qualifications/experience
