Job Description

Overview The Refuge, A Healing Place, is seeking a compassionate and detail‑oriented Intake Specialist to join our dedicated team. We are a residential treatment center specializing in trauma, mental health, substance use, eating disorders, and other co‑occurring conditions. Our mission is to provide a safe, supportive environment where healing can begin—and you'll play a key role in welcoming clients into that process. Position Overview The Intake Specialist oversees all aspects of the client intake process. This role works closely with our remote admissions team and serves as one of the first points of contact for clients entering treatment. Building rapport, ensuring comfort, and maintaining professionalism are essential to success in this position. Key Responsibilities Facilitate the full intake process for incoming clients Collaborate with the remote admissions team to ensure smooth transitions Greet clients upon arrival and establish a welcoming, supportive connection Conduct initial assessments and complete required intake procedures Search client belongings and person for prohibited items in accordance with facility policy Provide orientation to the facility, program expectations, and daily routines Ensure all required documentation and paperwork is completed accurately and maintained appropriately Compensation Starting pay: $19.00 per hour
Schedule Hours:
3:00 PM - 11:00 PM Scheduled required: Tuesday-Saturday Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Liaise with client/family of potential admissions to address any questions, concerns, etc.
  • Coordinate facility tours with clients and families who are potential admissions.
  • Interface with remote admissions team and on-site clinical team for necessary approvals, plan for clientarrival, including travel arrangements as applicable.
  • Establishes professional rapport with client to ensure that they feel welcomed upon arrival.
  • Supports arrival process including coordinating assessment/bed placement process, searches of clientbelongings/person for prohibited items.
  • Orients client to the facility/milieu.
  • Liaises with direct care/nursing/clinical team to ensure client is set-up with a treatment plan/scheduleas needed.
  • Ensures intake paperwork is completed in a timely fashion and documentation is maintained asrequired.
  • May discuss client's financial responsibility and take payment as applicable.
  • Provides exceptional customer service in line with Acadia Healthcare standards.
Qualifications

  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • High-school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in a patient care environment in a substance use/behavioral health setting, ispreferred.
  • Must have excellent communication and customer service skills, and an ability to use requiredcomputer programs.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS
