Full Job Description Position Overview:

The Community Church in Harrington Park is seeking a dedicated and talented person to lead and coordinate a blended music ministry that supports meaningful and engaging worship. The ideal candidate will have a passion for worship, strong musical skills, and the ability to inspire and collaborate with choir members and other musicians.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with clergy, staff and worship committee to enhance the worship experience Plan and lead music for weekly worship services and special services (holidays, weddings, funerals, etc.) Provide piano and/or organ music for Sunday worship services (and other special services), including, but not limited to preludes, postludes, and hymns Direct the church choir and coordinate rehearsals (September - June) Incorporate children and youth into select worship services (rehearse as needed) Recruit, organize and rehearse soloists and/or instrumentalists for the summer months Maintain music library and equipment

Qualifications:

Strong background in music (degree preferred but not required) Experience directing choirs and/or church music programs Proficiency in piano (organ experience preferred but not required) Strong sight-reading skills Familiarity with a variety of musical styles Reliable, organized, and collaborative

Schedule & Compensation:

Thursday Evenings, ~1.5 hours/ week Sunday mornings, ~3 hours/week Planning, choosing music, practicing, app. 10 hours/week
