Job Description

Position Overview We're seeking an experienced interim or perm OR Nurse Manager to provide full clinical and operational leadership for a patient care unit. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centered care while driving team performance, operational efficiency, and staff engagement. You'll oversee daily operations, staffing, and quality initiatives while acting as a key leader within the nursing team—balancing hands-on clinical understanding with strong leadership execution. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership Oversee day-to-day clinical and operational functions of the unit Manage staffing schedules, coverage planning, and census needs Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality patient care Monitor patient feedback and implement improvements Collaborate with nursing leadership on staffing and operational decisions Support budget planning and manage operational variances Oversee payroll practices and staffing-related processes Team Leadership & Development Lead hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management of staff Support staff development and ongoing education initiatives Act as a mentor and clinical resource for the team Facilitate staff meetings and promote team engagement Ensure participation in shared governance and leadership structures Quality & Performance Improvement Drive quality improvement initiatives based on patient and performance data Develop and implement action plans to improve outcomes Address incidents, concerns, and patient complaints with structured follow-up Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards of care Partner with leadership on strategic initiatives and performance goals Maintain clinical expertise through continued education and professional engagement Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program Bachelor's degree in Nursing required Active RN license in New York BLS certification required
ACLS/PALS
as applicable to service line 3-5 years of relevant clinical experience Clinical certification preferred Skills & Competencies Strong leadership and team management skills Ability to delegate, prioritize, and drive accountability Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Experience with performance improvement and data-driven decision making Conflict resolution and problem-solving capabilities Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office tools Work Environment & Physical Requirements Primarily hospital/clinical setting Frequent standing, walking, and active unit presence Occasional lifting (up to ~20 lbs) Exposure to clinical environments including patient care settings
Pay:
$110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
