Intermittent Cooks- Rural Sites

Rocky Mountain Development Council's Senior Nutrition Program is seeking dependable and motivated applicants for Intermittent (Substitute) Cooks in our rural sites- Augusta, Boulder, Lincoln and Whitehall. Starting pay is $15.39 per hour. This position plays an important role in supporting local seniors by helping provide nutritious, high-quality meals in the absence of the regular Cook. Responsibilities include food preparation, coordinating and supervising kitchen volunteers, maintaining records, ensuring sanitation standards are met, and assisting with both congregate and home-delivered meal services.

Knowledge & Experience:

Applicants should have knowledge of food preparation, sanitation practices, and inventory control. Experience cooking large quantities of food in a commercial or institutional setting is preferred.

Ability to prepare large quantities of food efficiently and safely Ability to work extended periods while standing Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to work effectively with co-workers, volunteers, and clients Ability to delegate tasks and maintain an organized kitchen environment Ability to lift up to 30 pounds

Additional Requirements:

Applicants must have a reliable vehicle, a current driver's license, and meet Rocky Mountain Development Council's driving and insurance requirements. Occasional travel in hazardous weather conditions may be necessary.

Education & Training:

The qualifications for this position are typically gained through a high school education and at least three years of experience in commercial or institutional quantity cooking. Applicants must also be willing to complete ServSafe certification within six months of hire. How to
