Limited; as needed Must be US citizen This temporary summer position is for a student studying in a science or engineer field. Work will be performed onsite at Kennedy Space Center in the Engineering, Scientific, and Research Laboratories. Work is performed under immediate supervision with guidance from scientists and engineers. Scientific disciplines include biology, biochemistry, botany, chemistry, physics, materials, corrosion, microbiology, plant physiology, plant and soil science, or related fields. Engineering disciplines include mechanical, electrical, aerospace, propulsion, structures, materials, corrosion, nondestructive evaluation, thermal, fluids, image analysis, and chemical. The position will primarily provide support to the laboratories that they work in such as supporting project work, organizing, inventorying chemicals, developing documentation, etc.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

: Enrollment in a degree program in science or engineering Must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a NASA background investigation Must be able to pass initial and random drug testing Must have and maintain a valid driver's license

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

Basic computer proficiency for viewing work instructions, drawings, specifications, and producing reports Experience using fabrication and test equipment, including hand tools, measurement instruments, and torque tools Familiarity with basic electrical test equipment (e.g., digital multimeters, power supplies) Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and technical work instructions

Pressure transducers, DC brushless motors,

CAN, EtherCAT, Ethernet, RS232, Modbus Experience with vacuum chambers is a plus
