Job Description

  • Serco North America is seeking an
  • Internal Communications Lead
  • to help shape how we connect, inform, and engage our workforce.
This role is responsible for executing and advancing our internal communications approach. They will ensure employees understand our priorities, feel connected to the mission, and see the impact of their work. Working closely with functional leaders and senior communications leadership, this role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution, translating business priorities into clear, compelling communications that drive alignment and engagement while strengthening culture.
  • This will be a hyrbid work schedule out of our Herndon, VA office
  • In this role you will:
  • Employee Communications
  • + Develop and execute internal communications plans aligned to business priorities, with messaging aligned to business need, timeliness, and best channel + Translate complex business initiatives into clear, engaging content for employees + Lead key communication channels (email, intranet, newsletters, leadership messaging)
  • Leadership & Stakeholder Support
  • + Partner with functional leaders (HR, Finance, Operations, Growth, etc.) to support communication needs + Draft communications including talking points, presentations, and announcements + Ensure consistent messaging, tone, and employee engagement + Advise stakeholders on best approach to achieve business objectives and requirements
  • Events & Employee Experience
  • + Support planning and execution of internal events (town halls, leadership meetings, employee forums) + Ensure consistency and quality across communications tied to key moments + Help create engaging experiences that reinforce culture and connection
  • Storytelling & Content
  • + Identify and develop employee success stories and mission impact narratives + Create compelling content across formats (articles, emails, videos, presentations) in collaboration with members of the Marketing & Communications team + Contribute to an editorial calendar and communications rhythm
  • Standards & Templates
  • + Develop and maintain templates, messaging frameworks, and content standards + Ensure consistency, clarity, and brand alignment across communications
  • Measurement & Insights
  • + Track and report on internal communications effectiveness (engagement, reach, feedback) + Use data and employee input to refine communications over time + Support development of a more structured measurement approach
  • To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • + U.
S Citizenship required + Bachelors Degree + Minimum 10 years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or related field + Experience in government contracting industry + Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills + Experience supporting executive communications and enterprise messaging + Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders + Experience with employee communications channels and tools (intranet, email platforms, etc.) + Ability to travel up to 10%

Salary range:
The range for this position can be found at the top of this posting. This range is provided as a general guideline and represents a good faith estimate across all experience levels. Actual base salary will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the scope of the role, relevant experience, job-related knowledge, education and training, key skills, and geographic market considerations. For roles available in multiple states, the range may vary to reflect differences in local labor markets.
