Job Description
Midcon Cables Company, a leading provider of cable and wire harness interconnect solutions for the Defense and Aerospace industry is looking to hire a Trainer for our manufacturing facility in Joplin, MO. The Trainer will be responsible to conduct job specific skills training for all production personnel: basic measurements and prep work (strip, tin, solder sleeves, sweat solder jumpers, installation of IDs, crimp, insert with pin retention). Assist the Quality Assurance Department by determining needs, prepare training material, and facilitate presentation of material / training and refresher classes. Conducts IPC Certification Training with eligible employees. Provide assistance to the manufacturing engineers with 1st Article build and/or review of PWI for production aids, tools, and fixtures evaluation of manufacturing processes and material list. Must maintain good attendance, and good work relationships. Prior teaching or training experience is preferred. Preferably 5 years of manufacturing production experience that would include ability to work from drawings, diagrams, schematics, and specific verbal and written instructions is a plus. Teaching degree or certification is preferred. IPC background is a plus. A Trainer must be a quick learner, a problem solver and possesses strong people and communication skills. Must be able to multi-task and re-prioritize work throughout the workday. The Trainer position requires an individual that has the ability to train others and to provide assistance and direction to the individuals. Experience in using computers is necessary for orientation and training. Able to work with minimal supervision. Assists in developing new strategies and plans for an improved learning experience. Trainer will interact with personnel at all levels of the company. Must be willing to attend on and off site training classes as required. Travel may be required.
