JOB SUMMARY

This position will support the Technical Grower in performing numerous tasks related to growing substrate crops (Irrigation management, lysimeter tracking, fertilizer mixing, material ordering, monitoring overall plant health, etc.)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

:

• Walk test plots regularly to scout for crop issues and coordinate with the Technical Grower and Supervisors to implement pest control, irrigation and plant nutrition.
• Make daily irrigation adjustments based on lysimeter data and with guidance of Technical Grower.
• Monitor and assist in checking overall plant health.
• Check irrigation lines and plants multiple times a day to ensure proper irrigation.
• Monitor and maintain lysimeter stations. Log data and email on a daily basis.
• Ensure injection system and computer are in working order.
• Monitor fertilizer and acid tanks levels.
• Accurately mix fertilizers and maintain nutrient inventory.
• Routinely clean filters for irrigation systems.
• Schedule and coordinate the maintenance of ranch as needed.
• Assist the Technical Grower with oversight and execution during special project design, installation, and daily/weekly management of such projects.
• Maintains a safe and professional work environment by complying with all Driscoll's policies and trainings in pesticide application, irrigation, safety, etc.
• Ensures the security of all Driscoll's proprietary and confidential information.
• Performs other duties as assigned, related to agricultural operations.

RESUMEN DEL TRABAJO

Este puesto apoyará al agricultor técnico en la realización de numerosas tareas relacionadas con el cultivo de cultivos de sustrato (gestión del riego, seguimiento del lisímetro, mezcla de fertilizantes, pedido de materiales, seguimiento de la salud general de la planta, etc.)

FUNCIONES ESENCIALES DEL TRABAJO

Recorra las parcelas de prueba con regularidad para buscar problemas con los cultivos y coordine con el productor técnico y los supervisores para implementar el control de plagas, el riego y la nutrición de las plantas. Realice ajustes diarios de riego en función de los datos del lisímetro y con la orientación del productor técnico. Monitorear y ayudar a verificar la salud general de la planta. Revise las líneas de riego y las plantas varias veces al día para garantizar un riego adecuado. Monitoree y mantenga las estaciones de lisímetros. Registre los datos y el correo electrónico a diario. Asegúrese de que el sistema de inyección y la computadora funcionen correctamente. Controle los niveles de fertilizante y tanques de ácido. Mezcle con precisión los fertilizantes y mantenga el inventario de nutrientes. Limpie rutinariamente los filtros de los sistemas de riego. Programe y coordine el mantenimiento del rancho según sea necesario. Ayudar al productor técnico con la supervisión y ejecución durante el diseño especial del proyecto, la instalación y la gestión diaria / semanal de dichos proyectos.
