Company Description Established in 1999, Commonwealth Equipment is the leading distributor of material-processing heavy equipment, serving customers from New York to South Carolina. Commonwealth Equipment has more than eighty employees and four physical locations, with the corporate headquarters located in Ashley, PA. Our mission is to sell new and pre-owned heavy equipment, execute effective and timely service on-site and in our facilities, and deliver replacement parts as needed to all customers in our scope. Job Summary The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company's information technology systems, infrastructure, and support services. This role maintains network and system performance, supports end users, and ensures technology solutions align with company operational needs. The IT Manager plays a key role in cybersecurity, system maintenance, and technology improvements across the organization. Duties/Responsibilities IT Operations & Support
  • Oversee daily IT operations and ensure system reliability across all company locations
  • Manage IT related issues and respond in a timely manner
  • Provide technical support for hardware, software, printers, mobile devices, and network systems
  • Maintain and troubleshoot servers, workstations, phones, and internet connectivity
  • Coordinate onboarding and off boarding processes including account setup and device management Systems & Infrastructure
  • Monitor and maintain company networks, servers, backups, and cloud environments
  • Manage Microsoft 365, email systems, shared drives, and user permissions
  • Designed and maintains network topology (VLANs, firewalls & segmentation)
  • Eliminates single points of failure using multiple switches & fiber lines between departments and different site locations
  • Assist with implementation and maintenance of ERP, CRM, and other business software platforms
  • Coordinate software updates, hardware replacements, and system upgrades Cybersecurity & Compliance
  • Implement cybersecurity best practices and company IT policies
  • Monitor system security, antivirus software, firewalls, and access controls
  • Conduct regular audits of systems and user access
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with company and industry security standards
  • Interfaces with auditors, legal, and cyber insurance requirements
  • Protects business from financial and operational loss VPN & Secure Access
  • Designs and enforces secure remote access (VPN, MFA, identity controls)
  • Maintain 24/7 VPN connection between all business locations
  • Aligns access with security standards and compliance requirements Strategic Planning & Budgeting
  • Builds IT budgets and prioritizes investments, IT capital replacement program
  • Aligns IT initiatives with company growth and operational needs
  • Ordering & Consolidating all IT equipment to ensure the team has technology without waiting Leadership & Project Coordination
  • Lead and assist with technology-related projects and system implementations
  • Develop IT procedures, documentation, and operational standards Qualifications
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of IT support or systems administration preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, network infrastructure and troubleshooting, and cybersecurity practices
  • Familiarity with networking concepts (VPNs, terminal servers)
