IT Systems Administrator

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Systems Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our IT infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, security, and performance. Your expertise will support our mission to deliver seamless service experiences through robust system design, management, and continuous improvement. This role is full time, Monday - Friday, and will report to our office location in RI. Responsibilities Manage and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure including servers, networks, and virtualization platforms such as VMware and ESXi. Oversee system architecture design for scalable solutions utilizing cloud platforms like AWS and Azure. Implement and monitor security protocols including firewalls, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and information security best practices. Administer databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server—performing backups, tuning performance, and ensuring data integrity. Develop automation scripts using Bash (Unix shell), Python, PowerShell, and other scripting languages to streamline operations. Support system engineering projects involving load balancing with tools like Kubernetes and solution architecture for microservices environments. Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) processes using tools like Git and Jenkins. Skills Deep understanding of operating systems including Windows and Linux distributions. Proficiency with virtualization technologies such as VMware ESXi and VMs management. Experience with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes for microservices deployment. Knowledge of RESTful API development and integration for seamless system communication. Expertise in computer networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, load balancing techniques, and firewalls. Familiarity with DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools. Strong background in system design principles involving RAID controllers, solution architecture frameworks like Service-oriented architecture (SOA), and system security measures. Ability to troubleshoot complex issues related to system architecture or network configurations efficiently. $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
